Antique Mourning Hair Braid Watch Fob Chain:

Intricately braided dark brown hair with gold plated ends and center with large charm.

The charm is in the shape of a cross with links between and a center two sided medallion. One side is a gold coin with a castle and a sailing ship believed to be the Isle of Malta and a symbol for the Knights of Malta, the other has an applied crest for the Junior Order of the United American Mechanics. It is possible that the original owner was a member of the Knights of Malta and later joined the OUAM and had their crest applied to the charm.

There is wear to the plate on the thin end pieces and the center wrap. The hair is tight, overall the fob is in excellent condition. The entire fob measures 12" from clasp to clasp and the fob/charm is about 1" square.
